Chuck is the Lead Pastor at Sugar Hill Church and The Corner Gathering. He’s been the Lead Pastor of SHC since 2011, but he’s been around Sugar Hill Church since 2008. Since day one, Chuck’s passion has been to encourage others with this one big belief: “You can do this! You can love God with all your heart, mind and soul and be normal!" You will often hear him say, “the Bible is a very big deal, Jesus is the very biggest deal and living that out always involves serving people here and around the globe.” Chuck's passion is to graciously lead people to Jesus and create a simple path for them to grow in their faith. Some of his goals are to reduce the dropout rate in our local schools, serve with our missions partners well, lead our church and families with a healthy fiscal plan, and in the future, to provide transitional housing for single moms. Chuck and his wife, Jenny, stay plenty busy with six daughters, three son-in-laws, five grandkids and an awesome dog, Kirby. They are foodies and enjoy eating through the Atlanta Magazine Top 50 Restaurants. Chuck’s favorite things to do include fishing, reading, writing and cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs!
Mauricio joined our team in March 2018 he serves as Pastor of Sugar Hill Español and Peachtree Corners Español. He has been at Sugar Hill Church since 2017. Mauricio was raised in more than five Latin American countries which ignited in him a deep passion for international missions. He finds great joy in helping others find their place in the Kingdom by encouraging them to step out of their comfort zone in order to reach the lost for Christ in non-traditional ways. Mauricio is married to Laura and they have 4 beautiful children. Together, Mauricio and Laura founded and run a non-profit missions organization that targets unreached communities in Mexico, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Brazil, and the USA. Mauricio is a “Motorhead” and loves working on his cars and motorcycles in his spare time.
Red joined our Worship Ministry staff team in 2021 as Worship Leader of Sugar Hill Español, and now Peachtree Corners Español. As Worship Leader, she leads worship in Sugar Hill Español services, English gatherings, and Students Wednesday Night programming. Red has served on various worship teams since 2008 by singing, playing drums, and playing guitar. She has also pastored worship ministry for teens since 2015. Her passion roots from gratitude towards God and her love for His Church! She loves having the opportunity and honor of leading people into true, authentic worship in that freedom given to us. Red loves to travel and try all things adventure! She also love teaching drums & guitar to kids who have the desire to serve their church through music.
Debbie is the Women's Pastor at Sugar Hill Church. She’s been on staff at Sugar Hill Church since 2017. Debbie’s passion comes from a place of wanting to teach other women profound and practical truths from the Bible. As the Women's Pastor, Debbie organizes and plans all women's events, teaches a weekly Bible Study, and leads other women in pursuit of the Lord any chance she gets! In her spare time, she loves to read, play tennis, and stay active with her four little dogs. She and her husband, Mark, have been married for over 26 years, and they have a daughter, Brittany, who is married to Adam.
Kaela serves as our English Worship Leader. She finds passion in what she does here, because choosing to worship the Lord during the most difficult moments of her life has been a major source of comfort and strength for her. She loves helping others experience the peace and joy that is found in worshiping Him. She and her husband, Jared have one daughter, named Aubrey. They live in Peachtree Corners and are so excited to see what God is doing in and through this church!
