What We Believe at The Corner Gathering

At The Corner Gathering, we believe in helping people know God, find freedom, discover purpose, and make a difference in their world. We welcome everyone—from seasoned believers to those seeking a fresh start.

We Believe:

Like every church, we have a full doctrinal statement outlining what we teach. But these are what we call our “Big Three” – the foundational beliefs that drive who we are as a church.

The Bible is a Big Deal.

We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God. It tells the story of who God is, and who we were meant to be. It’s a guide to know God and discover the joy-filled purpose He has for our lives.

1

Jesus is the biggest deal.

Because we believe the Bible to be God’s truth, what it says about Jesus matters. Everything in the Bible points towards Jesus. We believe His claim that He is the way, He is the truth, He is the way to life, and that He is the only way to God the Father.

2

We live this out by serving, here and around the world.

When we understand the Bible, when we know Jesus, it leads to a desire to demonstrate His love through serving others. We believe we are representatives of Jesus, commissioned to love others here in our community and around the world.

3

These core beliefs define the Corner Gathering’s faith community:

  • The Bible is the trustworthy Word of God—true, relevant, and the foundation for hope and direction in every season of life.
  • God exists as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and desires a genuine relationship with every person.
  • Jesus —His life, death, and resurrection—offers grace, forgiveness, and new life to all who put their trust in Him, regardless of background or past.
  • Salvation is a gift, received by grace through faith in Jesus, not by our own efforts.
  • Every person is deeply loved by God and created in His image, with a unique purpose and immeasurable worth.
  • Authentic relationships matter—we are called to gather, love, serve, and support one another as the living body of Christ.
  • We are called to live with purpose, freedom, and hope, growing in faith and making a difference in the world.
  • Grace is at our core—we welcome everyone, offer a fresh start to all, and hold fast to a judgment-free, inclusive community.
  • The church is a verb, not a noun—we believe in living out our faith through action, service, and real, everyday life.

A Church without the Trappings of Church.
